Dr. Garcia is a dedicated mental health professional with over two decades of experience working with children, adolescents, and families in clinical and educational settings. Her clinical experience includes conducting psychoeducational assessments for students, as well as psychological and neuropsychological assessments for children and adults. She has extensive training and experience with behavioral observation, identification of developmental and learning differences, and consultation with educators and mental health professionals. Her expertise in clinical assessments is deeply informed by her background as an elementary school teacher, school administrator, and as an education specialist with the Department of Children and Family Services in Los Angeles County, where she advocated for the educational rights of foster youth, participated in IEP meetings, and collaborated with school districts throughout Southern California.
